“When the character stops talking and starts narrating at you.”
“When the scene goes in circles and nothing actually happens.”
“When the story ends and they're gone forever.”
“When the slow burn never lights, or it's over in a chapter.”

We believe you should know how the things you play are made.
Generative AI is a major part of our creative process and of the product itself. We are not interested in pretending otherwise. But AI-generated does not mean untouched, uncurated, or automatic.
Yes. We use it across writing, artwork, development, prototyping, and other parts of production. Some experiences also use generative AI directly: during and after a story, you can keep interacting with characters or exploring the world through AI-powered features. Some additional generative features may be available as paid options.
No. Everything we release goes through human creative direction from people who have been in the games industry for over 10 years. Artwork is selected, regenerated, composited, painted over, corrected, edited, and rebuilt in tools like Photoshop. Stories are outlined, rewritten, edited, tested, and shaped by people. Characters, worlds, visual direction, game systems, pacing, and the final experience are deliberately designed rather than simply generated and published. Sometimes that means generating something dozens of times before it is right. Sometimes it means taking an AI-generated starting point and changing most of it by hand.
It helps us generate and iterate on things like visual assets, drafts, concepts, code, dialogue, and interactive content. It also powers certain experiences inside the product where generation itself is part of the feature.
We create the concepts, direct the worlds and characters, establish the tone, curate the output, rewrite and edit extensively, correct visual inconsistencies, build the experience, test it, and decide when something is actually good enough to ship. Nothing is left untouched by us. AI can produce an enormous amount of material. Our job is to turn that material into something good.
It lets a small team attempt things that would otherwise need a much larger studio with unlimited time and money. It gives us speed, scale, and the ability to build unusually reactive experiences, but the creative judgment is still ours. Mommys AFK to Date the Hot Mage still took over a year, with AI helping the whole way.
Yes. You can choose not to use them. They do not change the stories, and you can have the full authored experience without them.
There is a reasonable debate happening around generative AI, and we know some people simply do not want to play games that use it. We respect that. We would rather lose a player because they disagree with how we make our games than gain one because we hid it. So we are putting it here plainly: AI is deeply integrated into how our games are made and, in some cases, how they continue after the authored story ends. If that excites you, we think we can make some fascinating things together. If it does not, we understand. Either way, you deserve to know.
